June Updates

So much has been happening in this month! The Haveli has had its opening weekend from 22-24th June, which was extremely busy and vibrant with powerful and inspiring words from His Divine Holiness Shree Dwarkeshlalji Maharajshree, Chief Patron of Pushti Nidhi. SKM Interiors received plenty of positive feedback from the community and also the prospect of some new community projects outside of Leicester, which we are very keen to take further.

One year on and the Brett & Randall offices in Grove Park still look as sleek and professional as when they had just been completed. We are also delighted to have signed a new-build project in Leicester with which we hope to make a real impact.

Farewells and best wishes to our work experience student who must now return to university (we'll miss him!), and a warm welcome to our new Interior Architecture student on her placement year. Hope you're enjoying the football/tennis/etc, more updates next month.

May Progress - Shreeji Dham Haveli

We thought we'd show you how the Shreeji Dham Haveli is coming along. The internal arches will be removed, because they would impede on the deity's visibility to worshippers; it is required that the deity should be visible from any part of the main hall. There are some new rooms being created by blockwork walls; these facilities are for dressing, bathing and putting the deity to bed.

 
Below is a visualisation of the mandir area, where the deity will be located. It's all hands on deck at the moment with structural steels, blockwork, ceiling grids, lighting, colour schemes, flooring and signage. We will keep you updated on our progress!

March and April

The past couple of months have zipped by, but we've secured a project for Pushti Nidhi (UK) Ltd; a charitable organisation by the Hindu religious sect Pushti Marg. This project will see the conversion of the former Royale Cars site on Leicester's Melton Road into a new temple for the Pushti Marg called Shreeji Dham Haveli. Read more here...

New internal walls are currently being installed, internal finishes (such as flooring, lighting, colour schemes and sanitaryware) are being sourced and window graphics are being designed in-house.

We also have a 20-room residential interiors commission which is fantastic news for SKM Interiors. A further 3 residential projects have also been signed up and we have also had several planning approvals since our last update. More coming soon!

Late February Post

Apologies for the late post, we've been so busy lately! But here it is...

Firstly a warm welcome back to our directing partner Kiran Munde who has now returned from maternity leave and is getting settled back into busy architectural life (baby is a healthy, happy, handsome little boy).

We are also steaming along with our signage projects along the Golden Mile. Ideas are flowing, clients are approving and planning applications are being submitted. Keep an eye out for fresh new shop fronts along Belgrave Road!

Also in the pipeline are some new residential projects, as well as a couple of large commercial projects, one of which is in Nottingham.

We are also now able to accept NHS Staff Discount Cards, so if you are a cardholder, do get in touch. Hope the year is treating you well, more updates soon.

Interiors Progress

The interior refurbishment for the Shree Prajapati hall is going well, with the partition wall having been installed a few days ago and the central decorative feature almost finished. Lighting and other fittings are due to be completed in early February.

Hello, happy new year and welcome to our first post of 2012, we hope you've had a lovely festive season and are keeping to any resolutions you may have made!

Our year begins with a search for occupants for the vacant office spaces at 8-9 De Montfort Mews, so if you know anyone who may require one (or if you need an office yourself) then please spread the word and get in touch ASAP as we may have the perfect solution. All rooms would be perfect for start-ups or small businesses.

To Finish 2011

And so we reach the end of another busy year... the Prajapati hall has been undergoing a dramatic interior transformation as shown here. Structural work for the partition wall is in progress and stage/drapes are being arranged.

The Madani High School changing block project is drawing to a close, Sanatan Mandir Day Care Centre interiors are being sourced and another exciting community project is being prepared for submission to pre-planning.

We have also put our Christmas tree up, what do you think?
